Q: What is your Broker of Record Procedure?

A: We will only accept a Broker of Record letter at the time of renewal. The Broker of Record letter must be received at least 5 calendar days prior to the renewal date.

The Broker of Record letter must be submitted on the Insured's letterhead or an Acord form and include the name of the broker as it appears on their insurance license. Broker of Record letters must be signed and currently dated by the corporate office, partner, sole proprietor, or manager and/or managing member of Limited Liability Companies (LLC's). The signing individual must have the authority to execute the Broker of Record letter. We will then notify the incumbent broker and allow 5 calendar days to obtain a rescinding Broker of Record letter. The 5-day period may not be waived, except by the incumbent broker.

Q: How do I bind a policy?

A: Some of our programs (Victory, One Shot Builders Risk) you can get an immediate bind on. But if not - Fax over your request to bind, including the desired effective date, along with the bind documents requested online (signed by both the agent and the insured) to 916-772-9292. Be sure to indicate which of the payment options you have chosen. On some programs, you must also submit proof of payment in the form of your check, the client's check, or a signed finance agreement. If an online submission, to get to your binding documents, go online and select your submission then click on the blue binding documents button. If submitted by Acord form, please fax the binding docs requested on your quote received from the Underwriter.

Q: Do you accept credit cards or pay by fax?

A: At this time, we currently do not accept credit card payments or pay by fax. We require all payments via agency check.


Q: Where should I send the down payment and who should the check be made out to?

A: The down payment should be made payable to
      Builders & Tradesmen's Ins Services (BTIS)
      and mailed to:

      Rocklin, California, 95677

Q: How much is the down payment for financing options?

A: 1 - The down payment amount is 15% of premium plus all taxes and fees for the BTIS Finance option in Victory General Liability & Inland Marine only.
2 - The down payment amount is 25% of premium plus all taxes and fees for all outside financing options.



Q: Can I withhold my commission?

A: Yes, we prefer that you withhold your commission from the down payment.

Q: Do you have your own financing company?

A: BTIS, Inc. does not own a finance company but we do partner with Best Choice Premium Finance to offer an automated financing pay option - Click Here.

Q: Do you accept outside financing?

A: Yes, with all companies except Commerce West Auto and AIG Auto & Workers Comp as they are Direct Bill.


Q: What are the payment options?

A: Premium finance or pay in full only. (Exceptions: fully earned policies are pay in full only and direct bill)
