for new construction and renovation projects that are designed to meet the
Leadership in Environmental Energy & Design (LEED) “Certified” Standard, as determined
by the U.S. Green Building Council or the Green Building Initiative.

Great American Insurance’s
specialized coverage extensions include:
- Removing the per item limit for lawns trees and shrubs
- $50,000 additional coverage for restoring air quality (in spaces over 25,000 square
feet)
- Building Commissioning additional costs
- Fees for re-certification and registration
- Public Utility additional expense
- $50,000 Recycling Expense
- If Soft Costs/Rents coverage is purchased, additional time in the “period of delay
in completion" is given, when necessary to meet the certification incorporated into
the building design

General Program Information
Great American provides Builder’s Risk/Course of Construction
coverages for Owners & Builders, Contractors & Developers who are building or remodeling
residential dwellings. Dwellings (1-6 family) are allowed in all protection classes
(1-10). Competitive minimum premium per state. Replacement Cost Valuation for new
construction is available.

Additional Policy Options
Reporting Form
- Insured submits report each month regardless if there are starts or not
- Coinsurance is 100%
- Per start Example: Location started Februrary and reported on that Februrary
report, does not need to be reported again until February of the following year.
Report once a year in Februrary until location is complete. Once completed, no need
to report unless it is now a home in inventory. Annual per start rates apply.
- Monthly reporting Example: Location started Februrary and reported on that
Februrary report, report the location each month under construction at the estimated
completed value until construction is complete. Once completed, no need to report
unless it is now a home in inventory. Monthly reporting rates apply.
Annual Auditable
- No monthly reporting
- Coinsurance is waived
- Requires minimum of 3 starts per policy period
- Includes: model homes, homes in inventory, construction trailers
- Insured completes and submits simple audit form at end of policy term
- Limits may be requested and will be charged accordingly

Rating Information
The rating information needed to develop a price indication
is as follows:
- Project type, for a residential structure: New construction, Remodeling/Renovation
with or without existing structure coverage.
- State where project is located.
- Protection class for project location.
- Whether or not project is in a designated brush area.
- Construction material type of the project (wood frame, joisted masonry, non-combustible
or better, log home or manufactured home).
- Value of the new construction or remodeling/renovation & existing structure.
- Applicant’s interest in coverage.
- Contractors’ name and license number.
- Risk address.
- Proposed effective dates.
- Description of project.
Great American Insurance can always add more coverage onto your
policy at an additional cost.

Risk Canceled or Non-renewed
Please refer any risk that has been canceled or non-renewed
to Builders & Tradesmen’s Insurance Services prior to submission. We ask that full
information regarding the reason for cancellation or non-renewal and the conditions
or preventive steps taken by the applicant be provided.
Please contact your program underwriter for payment options and conditions.
Full annual premium - The producer may withhold commission and
remit net payment in full.
Certificates of Insurance
Evidence of insurance can be provided by the agent.
